Red Wings and Belle Tire team up

DETROIT -- The Detroit Red Wings and Belle Tire are teaming up to assist children stricken with cancer or AIDS with BELIEVE wrist band night. The first 5,000 people attending this Sunday's game against the Colorado Avalanche will receive a free wrist band compliments of Belle Tire.

Proceeds from the sales of the wrist bands benefit Ilitch Charities for Children and the Detroit Red Wings Foundation which will donate the funds to local organizations that assist children fighting cancer or AIDS. Approximately 60,000 wrist bands have been sold to date representing nearly $120,000 in proceeds.

During the first intermission of Sunday's game, a check presentation demonstrating Belle Tire's commitment to ICC and the DRW Foundation will take place.

The wrist bands are also available for $2 each at Hockeytown Cafe in Detroit, Hockeytown Authentics in Troy or log on to www.detroitredwings.com and download an order form that can be faxed to Joe Louis Arena.
