RAM Keys to the Game with Ken Kal

by Staff Writer / Detroit Red Wings

Play Well in Front of Howie
- With defensemen Brendan Smith and Carlo Colaiacovo new to this year's lineup, the Red Wings have to protect Jimmy Howard by blocking shots and making good decisions in their own zone.

Get Shots Through to Blues Goaltender - Ken Hitchcock is notorious for coaching his players to block shots; the Wings need to move the puck well, get good shots and get them on goal, and work to get second and third opportunities to score.

Be Hard and Strong on the Puck - St. Louis plays a gritty style of game, so the Wings need to combat that by banging with the Blues. They have to do the dirty work: be aggressive on the forecheck, win the one-on-one battles, and go into the corners.
