DETROIT - The Red Wings are getting a little more consistency - in their lines, on special teams and overall.

Those factors plus continued strong goaltending led to a 3-1 victory over the Dallas Stars at Joe Louis Arena Tuesday night.

The Wings have won three of four games and have gotten a point in four straight.

1. Petr Mrazek : Jimmy Howard was playing at a very high level when he went down with a lower-body injury in New Jersey. But Mrazek has come in and played like the No. 1 goaltender he was intended to be entering the season. Mrazek gave up a goal to Dallas defenseman Esa Lindell 16 seconds into the game, but it was a deflection that went off Mike Green's skate. Mrazek had to be especially good in the third period as the Wings had a slim 2-1 lead and were spending a lot of time in the penalty box. Midway through the third, the Wings had to kill off 46 seconds of a two-man advantage. Mrazek made 34 saves for his sixth victory of the season. He also took a roughing minor when he and Patrick Sharp got entangled in the crease.

Quotable: "I thought Petr competed great tonight. When he's on his game, his competition level is excellent. He doesn't budge at all in the net. They drove the net hard, it ended up with a couple scuffles around the net and he stands his ground great. That's one of his best strengths. I thought he really competed well tonight." - Wings coach Jeff Blashill

2. Anthony Mantha : Mantha is starting to develop some real chemistry with center Henrik Zetterberg and Tomas Tatar. On the Wings' game-winning power-play goal, Mantha took a pass from Niklas Kronwall and worked a give-and-go with Zetterberg. Zetterberg sent the puck back to Mantha, who was able to tap it into the open right side of the net. It is Mantha's third goal in his last five games.

Quotable: "It all started with a great pass from Kronner on that breakout. I saw that Z was open and I just gave it to him. I thought he was going to shoot, then he decided to give it back open net. It was just a great play from all the unit."

Quotable II: "I think we're finding some chemistry here. We've been sticking to our lines a little bit here and it's nice to get something going." - Zetterberg

3. Tomas Jurco : Jurco played in his first game with the Wings since last April, recording one shot on goal and one hit in 9:22. Blashill has said he plans to ease Jurco back in, playing him on the fourth line with Riley Sheahan and Steve Ott.

Quotable: "It doesn't really matter where I'm going to play. The key for me was to play good. Anywhere he's going to put me I'm going to try to do my best to show him I can play. I know I can do it and now it's up to me to show that anywhere he puts me I can play good." - Jurco

Quotable II: "Excellent. I thought he was really, really good. He hasn't played in forever. Played a couple games in Grand Rapids. But I thought he was excellent. I thought he skated well, hit the post his first shift, had another real good look in the second. I thought he was strong on his skates. He gave that line some real good dynamics." - Blashill
