1961: Terry Sawchuk held Toronto scoreless in the Wings’ 2-0 victory in Game 3 of the semifinals.

1997: Darren McCarty delivered some revenge to Colorado's Claude Lemieux, fighting the infamous forward 10 months after his hit from behind left Kris Draper with a broken jaw, nose and cheekbone. McCarty also lifted the Wings to a win that evening, scoring just 39-seconds into overtime to defeat the Avalanche at Joe Louis Arena.
