DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings today announced that forward Gustav Nyquist has been reassigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League. Nyquist, 22, has appeared in eight games for Detroit this season, tallying 0G-3A-3P in addition to a rating of +1. The 5’10”, 185-lb. winger currently leads the Griffins in scoring and is tied for ninth overall in the league (tied for second amongst all AHL rookies) with 55 points (20G-35A) in 54 games played.
Currently in possession of a 44-24-3 record, the Red Wings will take on the San Jose Sharks (34-25-10) on Saturday night at HP Pavilion (10:30 p.m. ET – FSD & 97.1 The Ticket). Detroit’s next home game is scheduled to be staged on Monday, March 19, at 7:30 p.m. versus Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals.
