New start for Wings game in Pittsburgh

DETROIT – The start time for the Detroit Red Wings’ upcoming road game against the Pittsburgh Penguins has been moved up to accommodate NBC Sports’ national broadcast of the Game of the Week. The Red Wings and Penguins will now meet at 12:30 p.m. (original start time – 7:30 p.m.) at CONSOL Energy Center on Sunday, March 15.

The Red Wings (35-15-11) finished their season-long six-game road trip with a 4-1-1 record and will open a busy March home schedule with games against the New York Rangers on Wednesday at 8 p.m. (NBCSN/97.1 The Ticket) and the Calgary Flames on Friday at 7:30 p.m. (FOX Sports Detroit Plus/97.1 The Ticket) this week. After home games against the Edmonton Oilers (Monday, March 9 at 7:30 p.m.) and Columbus Blue Jackets (Thursday, March 12 at 7:30 p.m.) next week, the team will play back-to-back afternoon games against the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday, March 14 at 1 p.m. and the Penguins on Sunday, March 15 at 12:30 p.m. to kick off a four-game road swing.
