Todd Bertuzzi skated for the first time since the second test for mono came back negative. He said he hopes to play Friday.

“It’s just a bad flu…I was excited to hear that news...It was nice to be out here. I came in here kind of giddy and bouncing around and I’m leaving pretty tired.”

The Red Wings have signed D-Man Kent Huskins to a one-year contract.

“We just signed (Huskins) and he’s going to play today.”

Mikael Samuelsson is out with a groin injury.

“It’s frustrating. You come, you want to obviously perform…but you’ve got to stay patient, especially with a groin. Work on it and come back stronger.”

The Red Wings have called up Gustav Nyquist from Grand Rapids.

“I expect (Nyquist) to be really good…we think he’s a top-two line NHL player…I think he’s going to play here in the not too distant future.”
