Mittenfest IV to benefit local nonprofit

DETROIT -- The Red Wings are gearing up for Mittenfest IV, a music festival benefiting 826michigan, for four days of fun between Dec. 31–Jan. 3 at the Elbow Room in Ypsilanti, Mich.

 
Join Wings' fans for live entertainment and two official Red Wings viewing parties, including Detroit vs. Colorado on New Year’s Eve (7 p.m. EST) and the Wings vs. Phoenix on Jan. 2 (8 p.m. EST). The festival and viewing parties are open to all fans ages 18 and up.
 
With over 40 bands scheduled to play, Red Wings' staff will be on-site at Mittenfest with cool Wings giveaways, enter-to-win prizes, Red Wings trivia and exclusive ticket offers to the Open Skate section at upcoming Red Wings games. Limited edition Red Wings merchandise designed by local artists will be available for purchase throughout the festival. Fans can also purchase raffle tickets for their chance to win an autographed Red Wings jersey, with proceeds benefiting 826michigan.
 
Tickets for Mittenfest IV are $7 per night at the door ($9 on New Year’s Eve) or $25 for all four nights, available now at Liberty Street Robot Supply & Repair, 115 East Liberty in Ann Arbor, Mich.  For a listing of bands slated to perform and for further information visit MittenFest.WordPress.com.
 
826michigan is a nonprofit writing and tutoring center serving approximately 2,000 local students in downtown Ann Arbor as well as at numerous classrooms and community centers throughout the area.  Their free programs are based on the understanding that writing is important for every child and that one-on-one attention is key to building academic skills and confidence in the classroom and beyond.
