DETROIT -- Louie Caporusso broke a second-period tie and Michigan beat Alaska 3-1 in a Central Collegiate Hockey Association semifinal on Friday night at Joe Louis Arena.
The Wolverines (29-10-0) will play Notre Dame in Saturday night's championship game. The Nanooks (17-15-6) will play Northern Michigan in Saturday afternoon's consolation game.
Caporusso also had an assist, Aaron Palushaj had a goal and an assist and Chad Langlais also scored for Michigan. Bryan Hogan made 25 saves.
Braden Walls got Alaska'a goal and Chad Johnson stopped 29 shots.
Caporusso's 24th goal broke a 1-1 tie with 4:11 left in the middle period.
