DETROIT – The Little Caesars AAA Hockey Club wrapped up one of its most memorable seasons to date, both on and off the ice. The boys and girls hockey program had nine teams in the 12 state finals, capturing a total of six state titles – the most ever in the club’s 48-year history. In addition, the program sent four teams from the six eligible age groups to compete for national championships.

Off the ice, 101 players out of a possible 180 were recognized as Academic Achievers by the High Performance Hockey League (HPHL) for recording a 3.5 GPA or above throughout the season. Additionally, 11 players are taking their playing career to the next level and have made college commitments.

“We are extremely proud of our teams and players this past season,” said Darren Eliot, Director of Little Caesars Amateur Hockey. “The commitment from Little Caesars Enterprises and the Detroit Red Wings organization makes being a part of Little Caesars Hockey special. Their support is the foundation for so much of our team accomplishments and individual achievements.”

“The partnership with the Red Wings allows our players to grow and develop both as hockey players and as young men and young women,” said Kris Draper, Red Wings Assistant to the General Manager and Head Coach of the Little Caesars Bantam U13 Boys team that won the state title for the fourth-straight season. “It’s extremely rewarding to be a part of Little Caesars Hockey, and we look forward to continued success and growth in the program next season.”
