DETROIT --The Detroit Red Wings head into the final homestand of arguably the most unique season in franchise history feeling thankful for the tremendous support they have received from their fans all season.

The Hockeytown faithful, and the brave frontline and essential workers across the Metro Detroit region, will be celebrated on Sunday afternoon -- both virtually and at Little Caesars Arena -- for Fan Appreciation and Frontline Heroes Day.
Sunday's puck drop against the playoff-bound Tampa Bay Lightning is set for 3 p.m. Belfor will serve as the presenting sponsor of Fan Appreciation and Frontline Heroes Day.
Frontline and essential workers will be among the 750 fans in attendance, and will be recognized on the Little Caesars Arena center hung videoboard, via social media @DetroitRedWings and on "Game Day Live," the Red Wings' official intermission show that airs on the video board and throughout the concourse.
Lori Marie Key, a nurse at St. Mary Mercy Livonia Hospital, will perform the National Anthem prior to Sunday's game. Key's rendition of "Amazing Grace" drew praise and went viral at the outset of the pandemic. She also performed at the COVID-19 memorial in Washington D.C. as part of the inauguration events for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Local organizations with guests in attendance on Sunday will include the Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT), Saint Joseph Mercy Health System, Detroit Medical Center and Kroger, among others.
Earlier this week, Red Wings fans were encouraged to share their favorite moments from the 2020-21 season via social media, which can be re-visited below.
