Kindl returned to Grand Rapids

DETROIT -- The Red Wings today announced that defenseman Jakub Kindl has been assigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on a conditioning loan.

Kindl, 23, was Detroit’s first round selection (19th overall) in the 2005 NHL draft. The Sumperk, Czech Republic, native has played in 11 games for the Red Wings this season, posting 12 penalty minutes and a -3 rating while averaging 12:32 of ice time per game. He has not appeared in a game for Detroit since November 6 in Vancouver, a span of 13 games.
