DETROIT - While resting at home this past Monday evening (November 27), Detroit Red Wings defenseman Jiri Fischer experienced a brief, abnormal cardiac rhythm. Fischer returned to the Detroit Medical Center for further testing and observation. He was released today and is scheduled to undergo further testing at the University of Michigan Medical Center.
The Red Wings and Jiri appreciate the media and public's continued respect for the Fischer family's privacy during this time. Additionally, the Detroit Red Wings would like to thank their fans for the tremendous support shown for Jiri. Many have expressed a desire to make a gesture of encouragement for Jiri. There are several avenues in which fans can express their support of the Wings' defenseman.
