'Hockeytown Thanks' tour is a hit

by Rick Bowness / Detroit Red Wings
DETROIT –  Earlier this week members of the Detroit Red Wings helped spread cheer and goodwill throughout southeastern Michigan by making a series of surprise appearances at several local business. Designated ‘Hockeytown Thanks’, this endeavor encompassed a wide range of activities at an eclectic mix of regional companies and afforded Red Wings players the opportunity to connect with fans on a grassroots level while also getting the chance to try their hand at a variety of non-hockey-related job duties in a fun and engaging atmosphere.

“The strength of the Red Wings brand was never more evident than during the past two days of community events,” says Senior Vice President of Marketing & Communications Craig Turnbull. “We have the best corporate partners and fans in professional sports. In a small way, Hockeytown Thanks connected our players directly with these groups, delivering memorable and surprising moments in areas where Red Wings families live and work.”
