Red Wings to debut new Black History Month exhibit on Thursday, Feb. 14 at Little Caesars Arena honoring individuals who impacted the organization on and off the ice. Team to highlight diversity and inclusion in hockey with Hockey is for Everyone Celebration at Little Caesars Arena on Sunday, Feb. 17. Red Wings to continue year-round initiatives designed to grow the sport of hockey, including STEM Day, equipment donations, community appearances, ticket programs and much more.

In conjunction with the initiative, NHL Clubs have designated one player to be a Hockey is for Everyone Ambassador, serving as a leader in the locker room and in the community on diversity, equality and inclusion. Alternate captain Justin Abdelkader will once again serve in this capacity for the Red Wings.

THURSDAY, FEB 14 - BLACK HISTORY MONTH EXHIBIT AT LITTLE CAESARS ARENA
The Red Wings join the NHL and NHLPA in celebrating Black History Month. To celebrate the individuals who impacted the organization on and off the ice, the Red Wings will introduce an exhibit on the Little Caesars Arena concourse outside PORTAL 8 beginning Thursday, Feb. 14. The exhibit, which runs during Red Wings home games throughout the month of February, features historic artifacts and photos of black players, community figures and fans who impacted the National Hockey League and Red Wings organization throughout history, Historic artifacts include two Stanley Cup rings from Red Wings defenseman Trevor Daley, the bowtie worn by forward Givani Smith during the 2016 NHL Draft, a locker plate from Nathan Robinson, the iconic orange hat from long-time Red Wings season ticket holder Kenneth Rucker, and more.

Team USA vs. Canada Women's Hockey Game:The Hockey is for Everyone Celebrationfestivities get underway at Little Caesars Arena with the women's national teams from the U.S. and Canada squaring off at 12 p.m., in the third and final game of the 2019 Rivalry Series. The U.S. roster features 14 members of the U.S. Olympic Women's Ice Hockey Team which captured the gold medal after a thrilling overtime victory against Canada in PyeongChang last February. VIP Team Experience:The Red Wings will host more than 100 youth and adult hockey players representing a variety of communities, including ethnicity and gender equality, socio-economic status, LGBTQ, military and those with disabilities, for a VIP experience at Little Caesars Arena. The guests will enjoy dinner prior to watching the Red Wings take on the Philadelphia Flyers from the Michigan First Gondolas. Following the game, the guests will take a photo on the ice at Little Caesars Arena with a Red Wings player. Youth Skater of the Game:The Red Wings will recognize Mason Steele from the Yellow Jackets sled hockey team (Livonia, Mich.) as the Youth Skater of the Game, presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. Steele will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have his name read during the starting lineup and stand alongside the Red Wings players during the National Anthem. The Yellow Jackets sled hockey team's vision is to empower physically disabled youth through participation in sports.
Blue Line Guests:To honor the many communities that comprise the sport of hockey across Michigan, the Red Wings will invite individuals representing Affirmations, Michigan Senior Women's Hockey League, Michigan Warriors, Special Olympics Michigan, and Trenton Hockey Association (a member association of the Little Caesars Amateur Hockey League) to join members of the team on the blue line during the National Anthem.
Youth Hockey Scrimmage and Intermission Program:The Red Wings will continue to celebrate youth hockey by hosting the Plymouth Stingrays and Grosse Ile Islanders, member teams of the Little Caesars Amateur Hockey League, for the pre-game youth hockey scrimmage on the ice at Little Caesars Arena. The Rochester Vipers will also take the ice during intermission to experience life as a professional hockey player and skate in front of thousands of fans in attendance at Little Caesars Arena.
Hockey is for EveryonePSA:In celebration of Hockey is for EveryoneMonth, the Red Wings will debut a PSA during the game highlighting the team's cultural diversity. Select players will speak both in English and in their native languages during the PSA.
Red Wings Pride Tape Equipment Online Auction:Select Red Wings players will use hockey sticks wrapped with Pride Tape during pregame warm-ups. The autographed sticks will then be auctioned at
