GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Red Wings on Tuesday recalled center Darren Helm from the Grand Rapids Griffins, marking his second call-up to the parent club in six days.

The 21-year-old forward made his NHL debut last Thursday during Detroit’s 5-3 win over Dallas, becoming the 92nd Griffins alumnus to play in the NHL. He appeared in three games with the Red Wings before returning to the Griffins on Monday, averaging 6:11 of ice time.

Helm, who currently leads Griffins rookies with 24 points (11-13—24) in 59 contests, is expected to be in the Wings’ lineup on Wednesday when the Columbus Blue Jackets visit Joe Louis Arena at 7:30 p.m. EDT.
