GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Griffins will conduct their annual youth hockey camp, which helps young players maximize their skills through on-ice instruction, dry-land training and film/off-ice instruction.

The camp runs from Monday, Aug. 3 through Friday, Aug. 7. On-ice sessions run approximately 8:30-11:15 a.m. and 12:30-3:15 p.m. daily at Griff’s IceHouse at Belknap Park (30 Coldbrook NE, Grand Rapids.

The camp operates under the management of Griffins VP of broadcasting and community relations Bob Kaser and the instruction of Griffins assistant coach Jim Paek.

Griffins/Red Wings star forward Justin Abdelkader will visit the camp on Monday and Friday for the afternoon sessions, while Kentwood, Mich., native and Washington Capitals forward Mike Knuble is also scheduled to make a special appearance on Thursday afternoon.
Dozens of children, ranging in age from six to 16, will take part in the camp. Donations from camp sponsors are enabling 12 children from Griffins Youth Foundation programs to participate at no cost.
