DETROIT -- The Red Wings close out the 2008-09 regular-season home schedule on Saturday afternoon vs. the Chicago Blackhawks (3 p.m. EDT) by looking back on a historic season and thanking their fans for their tremendous support.

One of the most memorable moments of the defending Stanley Cup champions’ season was the 2009 Winter Classic at Chicago's historic Wrigley Field, which Detroit won, 6-4. In honor of the event, the Red Wings will be wearing the retro jersey from the Winter Classic on Saturday. The white-based jersey with a single red body stripe was inspired by the jerseys initially worn by the club circa 1926-27. The crest features a classic Old English “D” in the center, with the current Red Wings iconic winged wheel logo on each shoulder.

Throughout the game, lucky fans chosen at random by seat location will be rewarded with hundreds of free gifts including: hotel stays at Motor City Casino, a set of tires from Belle Tire, 6-month unlimited movie passes from Uptown Entertainment, Mega Play tickets from the Michigan Lottery, autographed Detroit Tigers baseballs, Cheli’s Chili, tickets to The Color Purple, Spa packages from Dtour Spa, gift cards from Tim Horton’s, Meijer and Kroger, Carhartt jackets and many more.

The second intermission will feature the conclusion of the season-long Score-O competition, sponsored by Chrysler-Jeep Superstores, where the top two contestants will shoot for Trip For Two to a Red Wings playoff game including air fare, hotel and game tickets.  And in the final minute of the game, one lucky fan will have the chance to win $1 Million in the Gold Star Mortgage Financial Group Million Dollar Minute.
