DETROIT – Olympia Entertainment has announced that tonight’s “Duel in the D” between the University of Michigan and Michigan State University at Joe Louis Arena is sold out. College hockey fans can catch all the action of tonight’s game between the inter-state rivals on FOX Sports Detroit starting at 7:30 p.m.

The “Duel in the D” features the most-played rivalry in college hockey, as the annual clash at The Joe will mark the 308th meeting between Michigan and Michigan State. The Wolverines hold a slight edge in the all-time series, 158-130-19. The rivals have met at least once per season at Joe Louis Arena since 1990 and Michigan owns the series advantage at The Joe with a 14-10-4 record.

New this season, Michigan and Michigan State will battle for the “Iron D” Trophy. The trophy was constructed by Erik and Israel Nordin at the Detroit Design Center and has several symbolic elements representing the city of Detroit, the Red Wings and the annual game between the Wolverines and Spartans held at The Joe.
