DETROIT -- The Red Wings, Audi, WJBK Fox 2 and HOUR Detroit magazine present the seventh annual Toast of Hockeytown, a wine tasting event to benefit the Detroit Red Wings Foundation and Children's Hospital of Michigan, from 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7, on the ice and in the exclusive Olympia Club in Joe Louis Arena.
The event offers guests the opportunity to join the Red Wings team for an elegant evening of wine tasting, fine liqueurs, a strolling buffet, great silent and live auctions and the chance to mingle with current Red Wings, alumni and other celebrities in attendance. This year guests will also have the unique opportunity to tour the Red Wings' locker room. Items available in the silent auction include autographed jerseys from NHL stars Paul Kariya, Joe Sakic and Teemu Selanne; autographed memorabilia from the Detroit Pistons, Tigers and Lions in addition to other great non-sports related items including spas, salons and restaurants. The live auction will feature exclusive items such as a team set of game-used autographed sticks, the chance for two to fly with the Wings to an away game on Red Bird II later this season and jerseys worn by the players during the January 2 game when the Red Wings retired Steve Yzerman's jersey.
