City Theatre hosts official Viewing Party for Lidstrom jersey retirement night

DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings announced today that Detroit’s City Theatre will host the official Nick Lidstrom Jersey Retirement Night Viewing Party, presented by Miller Lite, on Thursday, March 6.

The ticketed event at City Theatre, located inside Hockeytown Café, will show the jersey retirement ceremony in its entirety and feature an in-person appearance by Nicklas Lidstrom. Doors to City Theatre open at 5:45 p.m., the ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. and the game (Colorado Avalanche vs. Detroit Red Wings) is scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. puck drop.

The official viewing party features an intermission appearance by Lidstrom to unveil his jersey number plaque, which will join the other Red Wings retired jersey number plaques in the lobby of Hockeytown Café. In addition, fans in attendance can enjoy enter-to-wins, interactive games, trivia contests, drink specials and more. A replica Lidstrom banner will also be on hand for fan photos at an additional cost of $5 per photo.

All ticketed guests will receive the same commemorative mini-banner and gameday playbill distributed to fans that night at Joe Louis Arena. A select number of VIP tickets will also include a copy of the limited edition book, Five: A Salute to Nick Lidstrom by Bill Roose, as well as a Nick Lidstrom bobblehead.
