– Detroit Red Wings fans will have the opportunity to meet Hall of Fame defenseman Chris Chelios
at a book signing on the Joe Louis Arena concourse behind Section 104 during the Red Wings game on Friday, Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m. against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Chelios will sign his new autobiography “Chris Chelios: Made in America” and meet with fans who purchase the book starting at 6:00 p.m. when doors open at Joe Louis Arena. The autobiography, which went on sale Nov. 1, will be available for purchase for $35 during the event. Chelios will not be signing additional memorabilia.
“Chris Chelios: Made in America,” is co-authored by USA Today hockey reporter Kevin Allen and features a foreword by “The Great One,” Wayne Gretzky.

From being inducted to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2013, to serving in an executive role on the Detroit Red Wings, and signing on to become an NHL analyst for Fox Sports 1, Chris Chelios has proven himself to be a man of many talents and here he tells his story. Drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in 1981, Chelios enjoyed a long career in the NHL, playing for 26 seasons for the Canadiens as well as the Chicago Blackhawks and the Detroit Red Wings, two diehard hockey markets in which he has become a beloved figure. Chris Chelios is a three-time Stanley Cup Champion, once with the Montreal Canadiens (1986) and twice with the Detroit Red Wings (2002, 2008). Chelios was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2013 and holds numerous NHL records, including the most games played by a defenseman (1,651), and is the only player in NHL history to play in more than 400 games for three different teams. During a historic 26-year career, Chelios won three Norris Trophies as the NHL’s best defenseman, made 11 NHL All-Star Game appearances and represented Team USA at four Olympic Winter Games. Chelios currently serves as the advisor to hockey operations for the Red Wings.
