The brightest young stars in the NHL face off Sunday in NBC's NHL Game of the Week as Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins host Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals, with coverage beginning at 3:30 p.m. ET. Crosby, in only his second year in the league, is on pace to become the youngest player to win the NHL scoring title, currently leading the league with 88 points through just 53 games (25 goals, 63 assists). Ovechkin, also in his second year in the NHL, is tied for second among goal-scorers (34 G), and tied for fifth in the league in points (72).
In other regional action at 3:30 p.m. ET, the New York Rangers, looking to secure a playoff spot, host the Chicago Blackhawks, and the San Jose Sharks visit the Dallas Stars. Washington at Pittsburgh and Chicago at New York will be presented in high definition.
