by Bill Roose / Detroit Red Wings

By The Numbers will highlight the Red Wings on-ice accomplishments during the first half of the 2015-16 season. For the next few days By The Numbers will profile a different player on the team, focusing on their statistical highs. Here is a look at forward Tomas Tatar.

Second among Red Wings skaters in total points produced since last season’s All-Star Game. Tatar has 22 goals and 28 assists in 84 regular-season games since last January. Henrik Zetterberg leads the team during that span, amassing 12 goals and 43 assists in 79 regular-season games since Jan. 27, 2015.

Second on the team in power-play goals, one off the lead held by Gustav Nyquist. The Red Wings are 4-0-1 when Tatar scores a power-play goal. The wins have come at Vancouver (Oct. 24), at Ottawa (Oct. 31), vs. Los Angeles (Nov. 20), and vs. Nashville (Dec. 2).

His goal production is down seven from last season at this time when he had 21 goals prior to the All-Star break. December was a poor month that included a season-long eight-game goal drought. He registered just three goals in 14 games in December.
