By The Numbers highlights  the Detroit Red Wings on-ice accomplishments in the 2009-10 season. Each week, By The Numbers will profile a different player on the team, focusing on their statistical highs. This week we focus on forward Justin Abdelkader.

Appearances in a Red Wings uniform during the 2009-10 season. The 50th game came on May 8 in a 2-1 loss to the San Jose Sharks at HP Pavilion.

The number of hits that he had during the regular-season, finishing third on the team behind Brad Stuart (206) and Darren Helm (188) in the category.

Penalty minutes collected in 11 games during the 2010 Stanley Cup playoffs. Abdelkader tied for the league-lead for most PIMs with Philadelphia defenseman Chris Pronger.  
Registered his first career NHL regular-season point when he assisted on Jonathan Ericsson’s goal in the Wings’ 5-2 win over the Los Angeles Kings at Staples Center on October 15, 2009.
Games played in for the Red Wings’ AHL affiliate in Grand Rapids. Abdelkader finished the AHL season with 11 goals and 13 assists.
