Despite missing 28 games during the regular season, he finished fifth in team points with 16 goals and 25 assists. It was just the second time in the past six seasons that he didn’t finish among the Wings’ top four point producers.

Assists produced during the regular season, making the fourth time in his nine NHL seasons with the Red Wings that he reached the quarter century plateau for helpers. He had two assists – which was a team high tied with Pavel Datsyuk and Justin Abdelkader – in Detroit’s five-game playoff series against Boston.

Tied his single-game high for assists in the Red Wings’ 6-1 home win over the Bruins (Nov. 27), helping set up goals by Abdelkader, Niklas Kronwall and Gustav Nyquist. His assists performance came 55 games after he set his personal best against St. Louis on Feb. 1, 2013.

Tied for second on the team in number of multiple-point games with Datsyuk, Kronwall, Nyquist and Tomas Tatar. Franzen was named NHL’s First Star of the Week (for March 3) after he produced five points in back-to-back wins at Montreal and Ottawa. He now has 66 career multiple-point games.

The number of career power-play goals scored by the Mule, elevating him into the top 10 on the franchise’s all-time list for the category. He scored seven PPG during the season. Only Datsyuk (81) and Henrik Zetterberg (91) have more power-play goals among active Red Wings.

Number of points produced in last 23 games when he returned to the Red Wings’ lineup after missing more than two months with a concussion. He finished the last month and a half with seven goals and 11 assists while averaging 3.04 shots on goal per game.
