Wolf Pack to Face Providence in Eastern Conference Final

by Staff Writer / New York Rangers
The Hartford Wolf Pack will face the Providence Bruins in a best-of-seven Eastern Conference Final series beginning Saturday night, with the winner of the series advancing to the 2000 Calder Cup Finals. It is the Wolf Pack’s second trip to the conference final in their three-year history.

The Wolf Pack have eliminated the Springfield Falcons (three games to two) and the Worcester IceCats (four games to one) thus far, finishing off Worcester in Game 5 on Sunday evening. The Bruins swept both the Quebec Citadelles and the Lowell Lock Monsters, eliminating Lowell in Game 4 last night.

Hartford won the Macgregor Kilpatrick Trophy as the AHL’s regular season points champion in 1999-2000, along with the F.G. (Teddy) Oke Trophy as the New England Division champion. Providence won the same awards in 1998-99, but injuries and call-ups hindered Providence throughout this past regular season. However, the Bruins received 13 players from Boston and the New York Islanders for their playoff run, as they try to defend their 1999 Calder Cup championship.

Tickets for all four potential home games in the series (Round 3/Home Games 1-4) are on sale now at the Hartford Civic Center box office and all Ticketmaster locations. Ticket prices for the second round are $19.50 and $17.00, including an American Hockey League-mandated increase of one dollar from the regular season.

Charge orders can be placed through TicketMaster at (860) 525-4500, (203) 624-0033, (203) 744-8100, or (413) 733-2500, or at For further information, contact the Wolf Pack ticket office at (860) 548-2000.
