The Hartford Wolf Pack have added one player and reassigned eight others as they prepare for opening night of the American Hockey League season.
The team announced today that it has agreed to terms with the league's top goal scorer for last season, Jeff Hamilton, who scored 43 goals in 67 games with Bridgeport to capture the Willie Marshall Award as the top goal scorer.
Hamilton, 27, spent the last two seasons with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. In 67 games last year, the Yale University product scored 43 goals and added 25 assists for 68 points. He participated in the 2004 AHL All-Star Classic and was voted a First Team AHL All-Star.
Hamilton has recorded 65 goals and 41 assists for 106 points in 134 AHL games, all with Bridgeport. He made his NHL debut with the N.Y. Islanders last season, appearing in one game.
Steven MacIntyre, Rory Rawlyk, Brandon Cullen, Juris Stals, and goaltenders Mike Ayers and Randy Petruk have been assigned to the Charlotte Checkers of the ECHL. Kevin Cooper will join the Florence Pride of the ECHL, while forward Michael Henrich was released from his PTO agreement.
The roster moves leaves the club with 28 players, of which four remain on the injured list. The team opens its eighth season on Saturday, October 16 versus Philadelphia at the Hartford Civic Center. Game time is 7:05 PM ET, and will be preceded by a laser and pyrotechnics display.
