Wolf Pack Lock Up Second Place in New England Division

by Staff Writer / New York Rangers
Burke Henry scored his third overtime goal of the season with just 10.7 seconds remaining, lifting Hartford to a 5-4 victory in Philadelphia.

Hartford jumped out to a 2-0 lead before the Phantoms pulled ahead, 4-2. Brad Smyth's second goal of the game came on a 5-on-3 power play to pull the Pack back within one, and Dave Duerden lit the lamp early in the third to knot the score.

Vitali Yeremeyev made 26 saves in net for the Wolf Pack.

The Wolf Pack win, combined with a Providence loss to Lowell, locked the Pack into second place in the New England Division. Hartford will open the 2001 Calder Cup Playoffs against either the Bruins or Lock Monsters on Wednesday, April 11, at 7:05 at the Hartford Civic Center. Game 2 of the conference quarterfinal series, slated for Friday, April 13, will also be played in Hartford. Game time will be 7:35.
