Hartford Wolf Pack General Manager Jim Schoenfeld today released the team's schedule of games for the 2003-04 American Hockey League season. The Wolf Pack will open the year with consecutive home games, Friday, October 10th vs. in-state rival Bridgeport (7:05 PM faceoff) and Saturday, October 11th against divisional foe Portland (7:05).
"We are extremely happy with this schedule," Schoenfeld said. "We have three more Saturday home dates than last season, which is consistent with our desire to provide quality family entertainment. The bulk of our home games are against our traditional rivals. We're confident that it will serve our fans very well."
The Pack will play 18 of its 40 home contests on Saturday nights, and the schedule also features seven Friday-night home dates. Hartford will also be at home on the night before Thanksgiving, Wednesday, November 26th, and on New Year's Eve, which will be a 4:05 PM faceoff. Late-afternoon start times of 4:05 will also be consistent for the Wolf Pack's six Sunday home games. Aside from those games and New Year's Eve, all home contests will face off at 7:05.
The Wolf Pack will get ten cracks (five home, five road) at their Connecticut brethren the Sound Tigers, as well as at bitter rivals Springfield and Providence. The Pack will see the rest of their Atlantic Division opponents, Worcester, Portland, Lowell and Manchester eight times each (four home, four road).
Hartford will also meet the defending Calder Cup-champion Houston Aeros twice (one home, one road), and their farthest road excursion will be to visit the Utah Grizzlies, who appear on the schedule four times (two home, two road).
