Ulanov and Purinton Suspended by NHL

NEW YORK (Oct. 12, 2001) - The National Hockey League announced today that New York Rangers' defensemen Dale Purinton (right) and Igor Ulanov have each been suspended for seven games, without pay, for cross-checking incidents in NHL Game #41 against the Washington Capitals on October 10.

Both players will miss games at Ottawa (Oct. 13); at Montreal (Oct. 15); vs. New Jersey (Oct. 17); at Atlanta (Oct. 19); at Tampa Bay (Oct. 20); vs. San Jose (Oct. 22) and at St. Louis (Oct. 25). They will be eligible to return Saturday, Oct. 27 at Boston.
