Tuesday's Lineup Includes Another Chance For Dom Moore

by Jim Cerny / New York Rangers

After scoring the Rangers' lone goal in Monday's 2-1 pre-season loss to the Devils in Newark, veteran center Dominic Moore will be one of three Blueshirts who played in New Jersey that will also be in the lineup Tuesday when the Rangers skate against the Flyers in Philadelphia. Goaltender Cam Talbot and forward Darroll Powe are the two others getting the opportunity to play in back-to-back games to start the pre-season.

"I know what I can do, I know how I can play, what my game is, but it's a matter of getting comfortable," Moore said Monday night. "The more games I can play, the better."

The 33 year-old Moore sat out last season following the death of his wife due to cancer. Monday's game was the first he had played in 16 months.

"I was very impresed," head coach Alain Vigneault said of Moore's return on Monday. "For a guy who's been off for a full year to come out and to play the way he did, and to talk to the players the way he did on the bench, his experience, I was impressed. I give him full marks for getting himself ready to play."

Joining Moore and Powe up front in the Rangers lineup on Tuesday will be Derick Brassard, Derek Dorsett, Jesper Fast, Michael Haley, Michael Kantor, Oscar Lindberg, Benoit Pouliot, Taylor Pyatt, Andrew Yogan, and Mats Zuccarello. Six different defensemen will play on Tuesday as Conor Allan, Dan Girardi, Ryan McDonagh, Dylan McIlrath, Anton Stralman, and Danny Syvret make their pre-season debuts. Martin Biron will join Talbot as the other goaltender making the trip to Philly.

On Monday night Talbot stopped 11 of 2 shots in relief of starter Henrik Lundqvist.
