Tripp Named to Canadian AHL All-Star Team

Hartford Wolf Pack right wing John Tripp has been selected to the Canadian All-Star Team roster for the 2003 Dodge American Hockey League All-Star Classic to be held on February 2-3 at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, Maine.

Tripp, 25, is tied for second in the AHL with 19 goals and ranks second on the Wolf Pack with 29 points this season. He also leads Hartford with three game-winning goals and eight power play tallies. Tripp has also amassed 40 penalty minutes and a plus-eight rating in 35 games with the Pack. He is the only Hartford player to have appeared in all 35 games thus far.

Tripp appeared in 23 regular season games with Hartford last season, collecting four goals and nine assists, along with 22 penalty minutes. In 10 playoff matches with the Pack, the 6-3, 223-pounder registered four goals and two assists, along with 17 penalty minutes.

The Kingston, Ontario native was signed by the Wolf Pack as a free agent on September 3, 2002.
