Transaction Update: Montoya Recalled, Hollweg Reassigned

New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that forward Ryan Hollweg has been reassigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL) and goaltender Al Montoya has been recalled from Hartford (AHL).

Hollweg has skated in three games for the Rangers this season, collecting one assist and eight penalty minutes.

From today's practice, goaltender Kevin Weekes sustained a mild groin strain and is out on a day-to-day basis. Defenseman Marek Malik skated today, and remains sidelined on a day-to-day basis with a mild groin strain. All other players on the active roster skated in the practice. Defenseman Jason Strudwick is eligible to return (personal leave) on Thursday, October 13 at 10:00 AM and will be placed on the active roster for tomorrow night's game vs. New Jersey.

The Rangers will have a pre-game skate tomorrow, Thursday, October 13 at 10:30 AM at the Madison Square Garden Training Center. New York's next game is scheduled for Thursday, October 13 vs. the New Jersey Devils at Madison Square Garden. Game time is set for 7:00 PM.
