Tjutin, Russia Look to Repeat at WJC

Fedor Tjutin, the Rangers' second round choice (40th overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, will be representing Russia at the 2003 World Junior Championship in Nova Scotia. Tjutin was a member of last year's Russian gold medal squad, collecting one goal and two penalty minutes in seven games.

The 6-2, 207-pound defenseman tied for third overall among OHL defensemen in scoring with 59 points (19 goals, 40 assists) in 53 games with Guelph last season. Tjutin has notched one goal and one assist, along with 14 points in nine games with Kazan of the Russian Elite League this season.

The tournament will take place through January 5, 2003 in Halifax and Sydney, Nova Scotia.
