The New York Rangers announced today that center Tim Taylor will undergo surgery on Friday, February 16 to repair an abdominal muscle tear. Dr. William Meyers will perform the procedure at the Medical Center of Pennsylvania at Hahnemann University. Taylor sustained the initial injury against the Dallas Stars on December 31. He will be sidelined for the remainder of the season.
Taylor, 32, has registered two goals and five assists in 38 games this season. The 6-1, 190-pound center has collected 50 goals and 56 assists for 106 points, along with 307 penalty minutes in 381 career games played over eight NHL seasons.
