The New York Rangers announced today that defenseman Sylvain Lefebvre
suffered a torn posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during the second period of last evening’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers. He underwent an MRI test this morning to confirm the exact nature of the injury. Lefebvre will begin a rehabilitation program on the knee immediately. He is expected to miss approximately two weeks while recovering from the injury.
Lefebvre, 34, has registered five assists, along with 23 penalty minutes in 41 contests with the Rangers this season.
