Sammy Steinlight, a ten-year public relations veteran of the Knicks, Rangers and Liberty, has been named Vice President, Sports Team Publicity. In his new role, Mr. Steinlight will be responsible for proactive publicity efforts for the Knicks, Rangers and Liberty, targeting player publicity, business initiatives, off-the-court/ice activities and the Garden of Dreams Foundation.
As Vice President, Sports Team Publicity, Mr. Steinlight will develop and implement broad-based public relations campaigns for the Knicks, Rangers and Liberty that extend the visibility of the teams and their brands beyond traditional sports media, exposing players, community and marketing programs, business partnerships, and in-arena branded entertainment such as the dance teams across a wide spectrum of media including local and national consumer media, lifestyle and business media. He will also play a major role in developing and implementing public relations initiatives for the Garden of Dreams Foundation, which partners with all areas of the Garden to "make dreams come true for kids in crisis".
Mr. Steinlight began at the Garden as a student intern in 1998 and has been successful in a myriad of roles over his tenure. Most recently, he served as the Director of Public Relations with the Rangers for two seasons. Before that, he was a member of the Knicks public relations department for eight years, where he went from a student intern out of the University of Massachusetts to the Manager of Public Relations. Through those years, he worked closely with the Liberty staff in coordinating and executing public relations opportunities as well as assisting with game night operations. Mr. Steinlight has also garnered several public relations opportunities for the Garden of Dreams Foundation.
