by Staff Writer / New York Rangers

Rangers Players and Alumni to Welcome Fans Back to Hockey with Open Skating Sessions on September 24

The New York Rangers are thrilled to be back on the ice for the 2005-2006 season. To celebrate their return, the Rangers are partnering with your local rink to host "Skate the Town Blue" - a program that invites fans to skate for FREE on September 24 at more than 25 participating rinks in the Tri-State area. A member of the 2005-06 Rangers team, Rangers Alumnus or team personality will be on hand to welcome you to the start of a new season.

Skate the Town Blue encourages skaters of all ages not only to skate for free, but also to participate in fun skating games, Rangers trivia and much more for fabulous Rangers prizes. Fans will be able to enter to win a sweepstakes for a grand prize of a Ranger for the Day, which includes a viewing of the team practice and an open skate at the Rangers' practice facility, tickets to a regular season game, plus a visit to the locker room area after the game at Madison Square Garden. With so many prizes, you are sure to leave with something!
