It was a busy day on Monday at the New York Rangers' training camp, as players competed in the annual Blue-White game before heading out to the links for the annual Rangers Golf Classic event.
The Blue-White game ended in a shootout, with the White team scoring a 4-3 win. Goaltender Al Montoya stopped Nigel Dawes on the final shootout attempt after Adam Hall put the White team in position to win it by beating Stephen Valiquette.
Following their early morning game, the entire Rangers team and coaching staff joined a group of distinguished Rangers alumni for the annual Golf Classic to benefit the team's Alumni Association. The event at Westchester Country Club concluded with a ceremony in honor of longtime Rangers television broadcasters Sam Rosen and John Davidson. Rangers radio broadcasters Kenny Albert and Dave Maloney served as the emcees.
Alumni participating in the Golf Classic included Association president Rod Gilbert, Vic Hadfield, Bob Nevin, Emile Francis, Pete Stemkowski, Gilles Villemure, Steve Vickers, Ron Greschner, Andre Dore, Ed Hospodar, Pat Hickey, Pierre Larouche, Mark Janssens, Stephane Matteau and Adam Graves.
The Rangers begin their preseason schedule tonight across the river at the Meadowlands against the New Jersey Devils. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
