Rangers Youth Hockey Camp: Week 1 Day 2

On Ice AM Sessions:
Throughout this morning session, players practiced stick handling and puck protection. They participated in drills that helped with controlling the puck in small areas.  Goalies practiced butterfly support and positioning.

On Ice PM Sessions:
New York Rangers player Ryan Haggerty joined players for the afternoon on ice session. The focus of the afternoon session was passing and being able to see the open areas of the ice. Goalies learned the importance of peripheral vision.

Dynamic Training: Led by Matt Radoslovich of Velocity Sports in Mahwah, New Jersey. Today’s training encouraged balance and quick movements. The group participated in ladder drills and shorts sprints up hills.

Classroom Presented by Kumon:
Players learned the importance of staying hydrated while participating in sports. The Rangers hockey development team also taught the players about leadership and what it takes to become a leader in and out of sports.
