Team Notes

  • POWER SURGE - New York was 1-for-3 (4:04) on the power play in tonight's game. The Rangers have registered a power play goal in 11 of their first 21 games this season.
  • KILL ZONE - The Rangers were 3-for-3 (7:00) on the penalty kill in tonight's contest. The Rangers have not allowed a power play goal in eight of their last 10 games.
  • Rick Nash tallied a goal and led the Rangers with five shots on goal. He has registered a goal/point in each of the last two games (two goals, one assist), and he has registered 11 points (seven goals, four assists) in the last 15 games. Nash has tallied 10 points (six goals, four assists) in his last eight regular season games against Pittsburgh. Including playoff games, Nash has recorded 18 points (nine goals, nine assists) in his last 18 contests against the Penguins.
  • Chris Kreider recorded an assist and was credited with three hits. He has tallied a point in nine of 15 games in which he has played this season, including an assist in eight games (four goals, nine assists in 2016-17).
  • Mats Zuccarello registered an assist and recorded three shots on goal. He has recorded six points (one goal, five assists) in the last seven games and 10 points (five goals, five assists) in the last 14 games. Zuccarello has notched a point in 10 of 21 contests in 2016-17.
  • Ryan McDonagh skated in a team-high 20:38 of ice time. The Rangers captain has led the team in ice time in each of the first 21 games this season. McDonagh is the only player who has led his team in ice time in every game his team has played in 2016-17.
