Team Notes

  • THREE'S COMPANY - The Rangers have registered three or more goals in four of the last five games and in 42 games this season (includes team goals awarded for a shootout win).
  • ON POINT - Blueshirts defensemen registered three assists in tonight's contest. Rangers defensemen have tallied 33 points (11 goals, 22 assists) over the last 17 games, and at least one defenseman has recorded a point on 18 of the team's last 28 goals.
  • POWER SURGE - The Rangers were 1-for-3 (4:49) on the power play in tonight's contest. The Blueshirts have registered a power play goal in three of the last four contests, tallying five power play goals over the span (5-for-12; 41.7%).

Blueshirt Breakdown

  • Mats Zuccarello tallied two goals in 21:26 of ice time in tonight's contest. Zuccarello extended his point streak to three games (two goals, two assists), and he has registered 30 points (six goals, 24 assists) in the last 38 games. He recorded his 50th point of the season in tonight's contest, and he has reached the 50-point plateau in each of the last two seasons, as well as in three of the last four seasons. Zuccarello has now posted 11 multi-goal games in his NHL career.
  • J.T. Miller registered a goal and recorded three shots on goal in 17:54 of ice time. Miller tallied his 20th goal of the 2016-17 season in tonight's contest, and he reached the 20-goal plateau for the second consecutive season. In addition, he added to his career-high in points this season (51), and he leads the Rangers in points in 2016-17.   • Brendan Smith tied single-game career-highs with two assists and two points, registered his first assist/point as a Ranger, and posted a plus-one rating in 20:29 of ice time.   • Antti Raanta made 34 saves in tonight's contest. Raanta made his 26th appearance of the 2016-17 season in tonight's contest, establishing a single-season career-high for appearances.
  • Ryan McDonagh led all skaters with five blocked shots while skating in a game-high, 24:21 of ice time. The Rangers captain has led the team in ice time in 63 of 70 games he has played in 2016-17.
  • Kevin Hayes won nine of 11 faceoffs (81.8%) and registered three shots on goal in tonight's game.
