Team Notes

  • POINT TAKEN - The Rangers have earned at least 100 points for the third consecutive season (2014-15 - 2016-17) and for the 10th time in franchise history. The Blueshirts have registered 100 or more points in three consecutive seasons for the second time in franchise history (1970-71 - 1972-73). The Rangers are currently one of three NHL teams that have registered at least 100 points in every season since 2014-15 (along with Chicago and Washington).
  • GOALS GALORE - The Blueshirts have tallied three or more goals in each of the last five games, in 10 of the last 13 games, and in 48 games this season.
  • THREE'S COMPANY - The Chris Kreider-Derek Stepan-Mats Zuccarello line registered six points in tonight's game (one goal, five assists), and at least one member of the line notched a point on each of the team's four goals in the contest.
  • WINNING WAYS - The Rangers' 47 wins in 2016-17 are tied for the seventh-most in one season in franchise history (New York also earned 47 wins in 1972-73).
  • HOME COOKING - The Blueshirts earned their 20th home win of the season in tonight's contest. New York has earned 20 or more wins at home in four consecutive seasons (since 2013-14), in six of the last seven seasons (since 2010-11), and in 10 of the last 12 seasons (since 2005-06).
  • BOUNCE BACK - Since Dec. 22, 2015, the Rangers have posted a 39-10-4 record in the game following a loss (regulation or overtime/shootout). New York has posted a 22-6-4 record in games following a loss in 2016-17.
  • SPECIAL TEAMS - New York outscored Philadelphia, 1-0, on special teams in the game. The Rangers have posted a 20-5-1 record in games which they have outscored their opponent on special teams in 2016-17.
  • POWER SURGE - The Blueshirts were 1-for-4 (6:10) on the power play in the contest. The Rangers have recorded at least one power play goal each of the last three games and in nine of the last 12 games, and the Blueshirts have registered 12 power play goals over the last 12 contests (12-for-35; 34.3% over the span).
  • KILL ZONE - New York was 3-for-3 (4:45) on the penalty kill in the contest. The Blueshirts have posted a 32-8-1 record in games which they have not allowed a power play goal against this season.
  • ON POINT - Rangers defensemen recorded three points (one goal, two assists) in tonight's contest. Rangers defensemen have recorded 52 points (15 goals, 37 assists) in 25 games since Feb. 11, and a Rangers defenseman has tallied a goal in 13 of the 25 contests over the span. Eight different defensemen have recorded a goal over the 25-game stretch.
  • FULL HOUSE - Tonight's game was the Rangers' 225th consecutive regular season sellout and the Blueshirts' 266th consecutive sellout (regular season and playoffs combined). The Rangers' sellout streak dates back to Nov. 3, 2011.

Three Stars on Broadway

  • Mats Zuccarello tied single-game career-highs with three assists and three points, was credited with two takeaways, and posted a plus-two rating. Zuccarello added to his career-high in assists (44), and he is the first Ranger who has recorded 44 assists in one season since Marian Gaborik in 2009-10. He has tallied a point in five of the last six games (one goal, seven assists) and in nine of the last 11 games (three goals, 10 assists). Zuccarello leads the Rangers in assists and points (59) in 2016-17.
  • Brendan Smith tallied his first goal as a Ranger and was credited with two takeaways in 17:02 of ice time. He has tallied four points (one goal, three assists) in the last nine games.
  • Derek Stepan registered two assists, including an assist on the game-winning goal, and posted a plus-one rating. Stepan has notched a point in five of the last six games (three goals, three assists), and he has tallied 10 points (four goals, six assists) over the last 12 games.

Blueshirt Breakdown

  • Alain Vigneault earned his 613th career win as an NHL head coach in tonight's contest, tying Jacques Martin for 14th place on the NHL's all-time wins list among head coaches.
  • Chris Kreider tallied the game-winning goal, tied for the game-high with three shots on goal, and posted a plus-two rating. He has registered a goal in each of the last two games, and he leads the Rangers in goals (28) and games with a goal (24) in 2016-17. Kreider also added to his career-highs in goals and points (52) this season.
  • Mika Zibanejad recorded a power play goal and registered three shots on goal. He has tallied six points (two goals, four assists) in the last six games and 10 points (five goals, five assists) in the last 14 games. Zibanejad recorded his fourth power play goal of the season, tying his career-high (he also registered four power play goals in 2014-15).
  • Oscar Lindberg registered a goal, tied for the game-high with three shots on goal, won four of seven faceoffs (57.1%), and posted a plus-one rating. He has tallied a point in four of the last eight games, recording five points (three goals, two assists) over the span. Lindberg has also registered 13 points (seven goals, six assists) in the last 27 contests.
  • Brady Skjei recorded an assist on the game-winning goal and posted a plus-one rating while skating in a team-high, 22:21 of ice time. He has registered four assists/points in the last two games, and he has also tallied seven points (two goals, five assists) in the last eight contests. Skjei recorded his 27th even strength assist of the season in tonight's contest. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Skjei is the first NHL defenseman who has notched at least 27 assists in his rookie season since Larry Murphy in 1980-81. Skjei has led the Rangers in ice time in each of the last two games.
  • Dan Girardi tallied an assist, registered two shots on goal, and posted a plus-one rating in 18:45 of ice time. He has recorded an assist/point in each of the last two games (two assists) and in three of his last four games (three assists). The Rangers have posted a 13-1-1 record in games which Girardi has notched a point in 2016-17.
  • Henrik Lundqvist earned his 31st win of the 2016-17 season and the 405th win of his NHL career in tonight's contest. Lundqvist is two wins away from tying Glenn Hall for ninth place on the league's all-time wins list. Lundqvist leads all active NHL goaltenders in career wins against the Flyers (34).
  • Tanner Glass led all skaters with six hits in 12:54 of ice time. Since he joined the Rangers prior to the start of the 2014-15 season, the team has posted a 17-4-1 record in games which Glass has been credited with at least six hits.
  • Nick Holden recorded two hits in 19:21 of ice time while skating in his 300th career NHL game in tonight's contest.
