Team Notes

  • GOALS GALORE - The Rangers have registered 58 goals through the first 14 games of the 2016-17 season. New York has recorded at least 58 goals in the first 14 contests of a season for the first time since 1990-91. The Rangers lead the NHL in goals per game this season (4.14). The Blueshirts have recorded at least three goals in 11 of 14 games this season.
  • POWER SURGE - New York was 1-for-5 (9:00) on the power play in the contest. New York has recorded a power play goal in seven of the last 10 games and in nine of 14 games in 2016-17. In addition, the Rangers have not gone two consecutive games without tallying a power play goal thus far this season.
  • KILL ZONE - The Rangers were 2-for-2 (4:00) on the penalty kill in the game. The Blueshirts have not allowed a power play goal in each of the last three games and in four of the last five contests.
  • Pavel Buchnevich posted his first career NHL multi-point game, tallying three points (one goal, two assists) in the contest. As of the conclusion of tonight's game, Buchnevich is the sixth NHL rookie who has posted at least one three-point game this season (along with Jimmy Vesey, Auston Matthews, Patrik Laine, Mitch Marner, and Joel Eriksson-Ek). He extended his goal/point streak to three games (three goals, two assists). In addition, he has registered a point in five of his first nine NHL games, tallying seven points (three goals, four assists) over the span.
  • Rick Nash registered his 400th career NHL goal and recorded three shots on goal. He is the 92nd player in NHL history who has tallied at least 400 career NHL goals. In addition, he is one of three NHL players who have registered at least 400 goals since the start of his rookie season in 2002-03 (along with Alex Ovechkin and Jarome Iginla). Nash has recorded a goal/point in four of the last six games and in seven of the last 12 contests (seven goals, three assists over the span). Nash is tied for the team lead in goals in 2016-17 (seven).
  • Mika Zibanejad tallied a goal, recorded three shots on goal, and led the Rangers with eight faceoff wins in 17:05 of ice time. He has notched a point in eight of 14 games this season (three goals, seven assists).
  • Brady Skjei recorded an assist and tied for the team-high with three hits in 17:21 of ice time. Skjei extended his assist/point streak to six games (seven assists over the span) and he has tallied eight assists/points in the last nine games. Skjei is the first Rangers rookie defenseman to tally a six-game assist/point streak since Brian Leetch from Feb. 17, 1989 - Mar. 1, 1989. As of the conclusion of tonight's game, Skjei leads NHL rookies in assists (nine) this season, and he is also tied for the team lead in assists in 2016-17.
  • Kevin Hayes tallied an assist in tonight's contest. Hayes extended his point streak to six games, establishing a career-high (four goals, six assists over the span). In addition, he has registered a point in seven of the last eight games, recording 11 points (five goals, six assists) in those contests.
  • Jesper Fast registered an assist and led all skaters with two takeaways. He has recorded a point in three of the last four games (two goals, one assist), and he has also notched a point in seven of 14 games this season (two goals, five assists).
  • Antti Raanta stopped 20 of 22 shots he faced in tonight's game. In 34 career NHL appearances at home, Raanta has posted a 21-4-4 record, along with a 1.86 GAA, a .932 SV%, and four SO.
