Rangers to Team with City Harvest to Help Feed New York

by Staff Writer / New York Rangers

The Rangers will be holding a food drive to help City Harvest feed hungry New Yorkers during “Will Work For Food Week.” Fans attending the Tuesday, December 3rd game vs. Columbus and the Sunday, December 8th match vs. Boston are encouraged to bring non-perishable cans of food to the Madison Square Garden Box Office area to help feed your fellow New Yorkers in a time of need.

City Harvest offers a smart, simple solution to hunger. The organization picks up food that would otherwise go to waste from restaurants, wholesalers and grocers, delivering it to agencies that feed nearly 200,000 hungry women, men and children each week in the New York metropolitan area. City Harvest is responsible for serving 800 programs and distributing 16 million pounds of food annually. Since its inception in 1982, City Harvest has provided over 100 million pounds.
