The New York Rangers, as part of the Rangers Cheering for Children Foundation, are pleased to continue their efforts of bringing holiday cheer to the youth of New York with the eighth annual Rangers Holiday Toy Drives.
Members of the Rangers will hold three toy drives throughout the New York metropolitan area during this holiday season, collecting toys for young children. All fans that bring an unwrapped toy to any of the collections will receive one autographed item from the participating players at that event.
This year all collected items will be directed to The Santa Claus Project, which is dedicated to supplying toys to those children whose lives were adversely affected by the World Trade Center tragedy of September 11.
The 2001 Holiday Toy Drives will kick off on Friday, December 14 at Antonio’s Restauraunt in White Plains. The second toy drive of the season will take place on Tuesday, December 18 at O’Neill’s Restauraunt in Queens. The Rangers will conclude their toy collections on Thursday, December 20 at Cronies Restaurant in Manhattan. Over the past seven years, the Rangers have been able to deliver over 35,000 toys to the youth of New York City.WHO:
