Rangers to Battle Islanders in Pre-Season Showdown at Hartford

by Staff Writer / New York Rangers
New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the Rangers will battle their arch-rivals, the New York Islanders, in a pre-season tune-up on Sunday, October 1, at the Hartford Civic Center. Game time is 1:00 p.m.

The game will be the final test before captain Mark Messier and the Rangers open their 75th anniversary season on Saturday, October 7 in Atlanta.

This is the third consecutive year the Rangers have closed out their pre-season schedule with a game in Hartford. Madison Square Garden, L.P., took over the management of the Civic Center in 1997.

Tickets for the Rangers-Islanders pre-season game at the Hartford Civic Center will go on sale tomorrow, July 27, at the Hartford Civic Center box office and all local Ticketmaster outlets, and online at www.hartfordwolfpack.com. Tickets are priced at $45 (lower bowl) and $30 (upper level), with special VIP seats available in the first row ($100) and second row ($65) behind the glass. Hartford Wolf Pack season ticket holders receive $10 off all seats, and there is a $5 discount on selected bowl seats for groups of 20 or more.

For information on the game, contact the Civic Center box office at (860) 727-8010. For group information, or to become a Wolf Pack season ticket holder, call the Hartford Sports ticket office at (860) 548-2000.
