Lettieri

2017-18 Stats:

He made the most of his first game, scoring a goal against the Red Wings in Detroit with family and friends in attendance.
"I was very honored this year to play in the NHL," Lettieri said. "I was hoping that's what it was going to be like. Coming into the season, I didn't know if I was going to get called up or how many games I would get. It's a learning experience and it's all going to help me down the road."
In total, Lettieri finished with five points in 19 games with the Rangers to go along with 23 goals and 13 assists for 36 points in 55 games in the American Hockey League.
"It's been a great year. It's been really fun," he said. "I contribute my success to all the people around me. My linemates and the coaching staff have been helping me a lot throughout this year through the ups and downs. It's been a good first year of pro."

The Excelsior, Minn.-native finished with 28 shots on goal in 19 games with the Rangers, and 142 in 55 contests with the Wolf Pack.
"That's always been one of my strengths," he stated. "I think that's what the coaching staff harps on me to do, as well as my dad and my grandpa and the people around me. I'm always working on my shot before and after practice and if you don't use it in the game, there's no point in working on it. I just have to continue shooting and I think that's what's helped me a lot."
Wolf Pack Head Coach Keith McCambridge couldn't agree more.
"The most dangerous weapon for Vinni Lettieri is his shot," he said. "He's tenacious on pucks and wants to make a different every time he's on the ice. He has good skating ability with his quickness to get into a position to use his shot. When you look at areas for a guy who wants to score goals and wants to play in the offensive zone, he has learned the importance of making sure he's good defensively in his own zone to give him those chances to use that offensive weapon in the offensive zone."

With the taste of the NHL there, Lettieri goes into the summer with one goal in mind for next season: make the team and stick in New York.
"Just work hard and try to outwork the next guy," Lettieri said of his summer workout plans, which includes working on his skating, shot and his stick handling. "Whether that's putting in extra work when people aren't watching or when people aren't doing things.
"I've always done that," he added, "so that's just a staple in my summer."
