Lettieri

New York Rangers General Manager Jeff Gorton announced today that the team has recalled forward Vinni Lettieri from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Lettieri, 22, has skated in 31 games with the Wolf Pack this season, registering 12 goals and nine assists for 21 points, along with 19 penalty minutes. He leads Hartford in goals and power play goals (six), and he ranks second on the team in points and shots on goal (76) this season. In addition, Lettieri is tied for fifth among AHL rookies in goals and is tied for 10th among AHL rookies in points in 2017-18. He has recorded five points (three goals, two assists) in his last six games, as well as 14 points (seven goals, seven assists) in his last 18 games. Lettieri registered a "Gordie Howe Hat Trick" by registering a goal, an assist, and a fighting major in the same game on Nov. 18 at Utica.
Prior to joining the Wolf Pack, the 5-11, 195-pounder played four seasons of collegiate hockey with the University of Minnesota (2013-14 - 2016-17). Lettieri skated in 149 career collegiate games, registering 37 goals and 46 assists for 83 points, along with a plus-14 rating and 76 penalty minutes. He helped the University of Minnesota win the Big Ten Regular Season Championship in each of his four seasons at the school, which included two seasons as teammates with current Rangers defenseman Brady Skjei (2013-14 and 2014-15).
The Excelsior, Minnesota, native was signed by the Rangers as an undrafted free agent on March 27, 2017.
